“What’s important is the story. The message. The feeling. The connection.”

When I started my final semester of college, I came across some amazing pictures from the archives of my university. As I explored these pictures, my fascination with them grew. While I enjoyed these pictures tremendously, I constantly found myself wishing that I had a similar record of my time in school.

Eventually, a friend of mine suggested the idea of getting a camera to document our final semester as students. This little suggestion eventually turned into hundreds of pictures, some of which you can look through in the gallery below. I don’t think these pictures should be analyzed or examined on a technical basis - that was never the purpose of this project. This project never really had a purpose and that’s what I loved most about it. All I wanted was to be able to use these photos to tell a story, however mundane it may be. It is in this light that I enjoy these pictures the most. They, like the photos from the archives, freeze the simple moments and capture them in time forever. They tell stories and relate feelings in a way that only pictures can.
